AJT Engineering Ltd were contracted to Supply a new Main Inlet Valve at a Hydro Power Station near Beauly

This Main Inlet valve follows on from our previous fabrication post of the concentric reducer cones which were recently fabricated and machined in house to match the new Main Inlet valve requirements.

The scope of works was to design the concentric cones, MIV Guarding and the bypass pipework and to carry out a complete laser scan of the building, surrounding area and the existing Main Inlet Valve.

Onsite works consisted of removing the existing Main Inlet valve and dismantling it for taking away from site. The new Main Inlet valve was transported to site and was unloaded using the station overhead crane. The new valve was installed, hydraulics and electrical works carried out to operate the valve and was commissioned to client specifications in dry and wet conditions.
