CNC Operators - AJT require operators for our current and future Projects, applicants must:

1. Have extensive experience in operating CNC Horizontal Borers or extensive experience of CNC Milling & Turning or 5 Axis milling
2. Experience of working with large & complex components
3. Be able to program and operate Fanuc and Heidenhain and controls
4. Have a sound knowledge of machining materials used within the oil & gas industry


Day shift (Shift allowance at x1) – Mon-Thur 07:00 to 15:30 & Friday 07:00 to 13:00 (38 Hours) overtime
Night shift (Shift allowance at x 1.333) – Mon-Wed 19:00 to 05:30 & Thur 19:00 to 03.30 (38 Hours) overtime
One paid 10 minute tea break in the morning and a half hour unpaid lunch break Monday to Thursday and when working overtime on a Friday.


All overtime at x1.5, with x2 on Friday afternoon and Sunday

Main Responsibilities

  • Operate one or more of the following machines to a standards acceptable by AJT Engineering:
    • CNC / Manual Vertical Turning Lathes (Fanuc Controls)
    • CNC Horizontal Boring Mill (Fanuc or Heidenhain Controls)
    • CNC Lathe (Fanuc Controls)
    • DMG/DMU 100P duo Block Deckel Maho 5 Axis Machine (Heidenhain Controls)
  • To ensure all work follows the written procedures and drawings to produce a work output acceptable to the Quality Control Department of AJT Engineering and in accordance with the operational requirements of the Company
  • To ensure all work is carried out in a responsible and timely manner
  • To ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment at all times
  • Carry out any other reasonable task as requested by Management

Knowledge & Experience

  • To have experience, in the manufacture and repair of a wide range of engineering components
  • To have experience in working with a broad range of materials both Ferrous and Non Ferrous
  • To have services a recognised engineering apprenticeship in a machine shop environments
  • A reasonable knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 Quality and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Systems.
